1870 - 1960s
Alpha has a long history of innovation and product developments.
As technology evolved, Alpha's efforts persisted to engineer the most innovative products - leading to many first-to-market achievements for various process and product technologies.
1970 -1980s
The 1970s saw the emergence of personal electronics market with the introduction of the first PC in 1975. The 1970s and 1980s established several technological and corporate milestones, as Alpha continued to lead the industry with numerous new products and solutions.
Among these first-to-market achievements:
- First VOC-free flux
- First provider of solder spheres for BGA applications
- First low-drossing solder

1990s
Innovations continued throughout the 1990s with the development of the first testable no-clean solder paste, first polymer-based solder paste, and the first precision-cut laser stencil for fine-pitch printing.
During this period, the Alpha solder reclamation program expanded to include electrolytic refining.
2000s
With the movement towards lead-free solders, Alpha responded with new product solutions, including low temperature solders, high reliability alloys, and sintering technologies for die attach applications.

2015 and Beyond...
In 2015 Alpha became part of MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions. Along with the Compugraphics, Electrolube, Kester, and MacDermid Enthone brands, Alpha continues to be one of the industry's preferred supplier of high-performance materials, serving all global regions and all steps of device manufacturing within every segment of the electronics supply chain.
