MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions Launches a New Packaging Authentication Process
MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, a global leader in integrated technologies and materials for the electronics industry, has developed an anti-counterfeit system in keeping with its commitment to quality and sustainability. The authentication feature will be part of the package labeling process. It will be used for selective brands including Alpha® and Kester®, with the initial inclusion of lead-free pastes and fluxes in jar packaging. Other product categories will follow in due course. This move is in response to the high number of counterfeit products reported in Asia. The new system came into effect earlier this month to ensure that customers use authentic MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions products.
According to a report by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), counterfeiting of industrial materials in China is a significant concern, with a high risk of counterfeit products in sectors such as automotive parts, electrical machinery, and construction materials. The prevalence of counterfeit products has made it challenging for customers to rely on the high-quality products they have come to expect. MacDermid Alpha’s investment in the anti-counterfeit system will help customers verify the authenticity of their purchases. Furthermore, buyers will be able to authenticate the unique serial number of their purchase by scanning the QR label through a mobile phone. A guide will be provided to all customers to facilitate the use of this new system.
“We want to assure our customers of our commitment to quality and help customers ensure that authentic MacDermid Alpha products and solutions are used in their critical processes, said Jack Mook, Vice President - Commercial Asia. “The MacDermid Alpha anti-counterfeit system will expand to other regions in the future.”
